Very comfortable hotel with friendly staff. Pros: The cleanliness. Cons: Eating facilities for families. Location: The Fall fair which occurs in August. And visit the Fern Cottage. So amazing to step back in time with the family's life totally intact! The only problem we encountered was our inability to have the children go to the deli to eat because they had to go through part of the casino to get there. Bear River Casino Hotel Cons: PILLOWS!!!! They're so uncomfortable, which is unfortunate because the bed was great! Location: Located conveniently off of 101. Stopped at this hotel for one night as a half way point on our way to the Oregon coast. The room was clean and comfortable (besides the pillows being AWFUL!) We had our 2 year old son with us, and although I was hesitant to have him there because it was attached to the casino, it actually was fine (& very separate). Nicest hotel in the area Pros: Large flat screen TV with plenty of cable channels. Modern hotel with pretty good bedding. Cons: Better cleaning and add bath tubs. Location: Other than the attached casino there is NOTHING in the area. But it is also the only hotel in the area. Lamps and furnishings hadn't been dusted in months. Was disappointed that there was no bath tub, and for whatever reason, no door on the shower. Otherwise it was fine.

Near Redwoods Pros: New. Clean. Cons: No free breakfast. Parking issues, but valet parking available. Location: Near Redwoods and Avenue of the Giants The room had an extra vanity spot which was a nice place to lay stuff. It is a newer hotel which was nice. The beds were comfortable. We were disappointed that the breakfast was not included which if you think about it, adds about $30 to the bill over other hotels that do offer breakfast included. Bear River Pros: The rooms were decorated very nicely. Cons: The noise in the room. Location: It was within easy reach of Eureka which was a great day out. The scenery from the motel was very pretty. The staff were friendly and helpful. Had a problem with water dripping onto the air conditioner outside our window which kept us awake. Had to be moved in the middle of the night to another room to sleep, no problem with the staff arranging this.
