I started my compensation claims with the VA in late 2012. I was in the USMC from 4/7/1969 to 3/16/1973. I had a service connected injury to my right hand rated at 50% from 2/6/2002. I did this on my own. I was stationed at Camp LeJuene for a time in 1969. Legislation was passed so veterans and others could file VA claims for cancers and other maladies presumed to be connected to the contaminated water. I filed a claim on my own in July 2017.
