In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. I loved Black Bear Diner and used to go there all the time. That is the restaurant on Academy my husband took me to the day before he passed away. It was a wonderful day that day. It took me a few months to go back to Black Bear but when I did I’m glad I went. I just started going to the one on Garden of the Gods. Still wasn’t the same and nearly broke down and had a panic attack but I made it through. I still remember what his last meal was and will never forget it.

I lovey food every time I come to Black Bear and the staff is always friendly!
This was our first time at this location. The food was good and the staff was friendly and pleasant.
The breakfast 🍳 there pancakes 🥞 are larger, you get more bacon 🥓,and the sausage is delicious 😋
