In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Good food and atmosphere cozy, they serve a lot of food so if your not a big eater might think about sharing a meal, well the breakfast portion anyways. I need to go back and try the dinner menu.

Black Bear Diner... super friendly people. Did not care for the green beans... it had a spice didnt like. They use different spices. I tasted the meatloaf... it had a spicy taste instead of that good ole fashion meatloaf tasting like gourmet hamburger w oatmeal etc. BUT I had the Big Foot Chicken Fried Steak... Wow.. LOVED IT. LOVED THEIR CORN MUFFINS... MASH POTATOES W GRAVY... AWESOME... Food and their side salads were great. Nice enjoyable salad.. fresh w tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, cabbage... refreshing before main... read more

Food was delicious! Nice big portions for a good price! Great family atmosphere! I love it and dont mind driving the 20min from where I live... Cant wait to go back! �������
