In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. We've had the opportunity to visit a few times and our most recent visit was by far the greatest experience we have had at a restaurant. Our server Tony(Anthony) was just incredible! He went above and beyond and paid attention to every little detail to make our dining experience lovely! His service deserves more than 5 stars! :) Oh and the food is absolutely amazing, we have never had cold food. It has always been just great! :)

We came in tonight for the first time. WOW!!!! THE FOOD WAS GREAT and the service at the bar from JONATHAN WAS AWESOME! ! He took such great care of us! The meals are generous portions and the price was super reasonable. We will totally be back and we will ask to be served by Jonathan again!

It was amazing! The soup, the sandwich, the pies, coffee Oh , the steak! Everything was just delicious.
