In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. My wife and I stopped in for a late lunch and enjoyed our meals and the service way better than I anticipated. Huge portions (plan on bringing a good amount home!), delicious food, and cheerful staff. This is probably our new favorite casual dining place <3

This Black Bear Diner is starting to become our regular for us when eating out. Last night was my parents first time and they really enjoyed themselves. The waitress was amazing !! The food was excellent. Our grandson (4) was even accommodated for his dessert that comes with the meal. He is lactose intolerant so she replaced it with a brownie. The only meal I haven't cared for there was the biscuits and gravy. But I figure it is most likely just my issue. I love the pies !! We will continue eating there. �
