Been there a lot but yesterday our food just wasn't up to their usual potential. The chicken fried steak tasted floury & the gravy was bland. My toast was burnt. Husband had a turkey, bacon, jack cheese sandwich but didn't care for it. Everything was real hard not fresh. Hopefully better luck next time..
Service was horrid, sat waiting for server to come back for at least 20mins, got 1 refill of coffee, wanted more gravy for biscuits but alas cold biscuits no gravy. Taking my business to a different location in future.

First they forgot my friends meal completely but didn't charge us so I gave it two stars for that but my meal was the Bigfoot Fried Steak with gravy with vegetables and Red potato mash and the mash potatoes were good but the fried steak was over cooked or just plain awful and I didn't even finish it because I couldn't stand to eat any more. By far the worst Fried Steak I've ever had. I've been to a few Black Bear Diners and what I like about them is the consistency in food. Unfortunately it fell seriously short tonight. It took about ten minutes until our drink order was taken, which wasn't a big deal except that it was indicative of what the whole meal would be like. After about another ten minutes our very nice, and very apologetic server came by to take our order (the first we'd seen of her: I think they were running her ragged). We then waited at least 45 minutes for our food. We watched the people... read more

Over the years I have eaten at the BB throughout the state of CA & AZ. It is my go-to restaurant whether travelling or not, but just yesterday at the Roseville restaurant my open face sandwich arrived cold, a friends potpie was not done & cold, & another friend had fried chicken with gravy & the kitchen forgot to include the mash potatoes. Food was great. Waited a long time to order food. The waitress must have been preoccupied everyone else came over but her. 1 time to take my order 20 minutes after we sat. The other time was to give us our check. I should have gave the other 2 servers our tip. I did how ever gave another tip to the server who brought our Togo containers and who cashed us out.
