In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. RecommendedMy family came in on Christmas for dinner. The place was packed! My husband and I are vegan and the special dinner menu didn't have any options for us. Randy was amazing in accommodating us. He made us food that we would eat and was extra kind in making our visit enjoyable. Not many places go out of their way in adapting their menus.
