In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. So many delicious choices! The staff bends over backwards to take care of you. If they make a mistake, they make it right ASAP. It can get very busy, so I do recommend getting there at 9:00 or earlier for breakfast. By 10, there’s a long wait.

What a wonderful experience! Atmosphere is very fun, happy and clean. Travis our server, was one of the best servers we've ever had in any restaurant! NOT kidding! Thank you Travis! Food was perfectly delicious! Portions were huge too! Coffee great! Everything! We will be back, like several of the other customers around us said they would be too! Great wonderful fun......need I go on? �
