My children received care from BHPD since they first started their dental care. They are currently 13, 10 and 9. BHPD referred my 13yo for orthodontics. Medicaid requires a referral to orthodontics and BHPD denied to complete the referral to Rapid City Orthodontics. Now that I want my 10 and 9yo consulted to orthodontics, BHPD expects me to get a referral from someone else because apparently over 8 years of service with them isn’t enough for them to give us a referral. RecommendedThey ask you if there is anything specific you are worried about and if you are they tell you what's going on with your child's teeth. For instance I asked about my 6 year old's permanent teeth and if they can tell me if she will need braces or not. I find it useful that they can tell you what's going on with your kid's teeth by the xray. I am so proud of my baby she has no cavities and I hope it stays that way.
My five-year-old daughter had to go back in for a crown they installed six weeks earlier that came off of her front tooth for no reason. We called and explained the situation to the receptionist and she scheduled an appointment and said there would be no charge. My daughter was apprehensive to go to the dentist so my wife told her if she needed anything to just ask the dental assistant to go get her mother in the waiting room and she would come right back and comfort her. Never never again!!! We had to send Our daughter to Black hills pediatrics dentistry for tooth surgery. Our dentist whom I love does not do surgeries. She had a silver Cap fall off only after a month so I had to take her back into office. They made her get another x ray🙄😡 “just spent 8,000 for surgery and x rays “then took her back. Ridiculous! Should have been charged to Medicaid but they charged us instead! Never going back again!
We brought both of our children here. Our first had 1 tooth removed, when she came out of surgery her entire mouth was full of metal caps- every single tooth now has a cap- she’s 7 � (we had no prior knowledge of this procedure) now she’s had nothing but issues with her teeth rotting and crumbling. She had never even had a cavity before this... the tooth she had pulled was damaged from a chip due to eating something hard. Appointment was as 10:20 still haven't seen anyone. Its 11:10 and counting. We have other appointments today.... Won't recommend at all

The first time we visited I went back with my daughter so she could meet the staff. Then she went back on her own. Very knowledgeable on treatment and discussed concerns.
