I made a reservation through **** for a luxury rental in ********, **. The reservation was confirmed and my credit card was charged on Tues. Don’t rent property managed by Blue Pacific Vacation Rental. We’ve rented a Depoe Bay property four out of the last five years. (The Lighthouse) Never needed the management company until this trip. The unit was short several items such as TP, Kleenex, hand towels etc. We politely informed Blue Pacific. We received a very rude response stating that all items were stocked in the unit and insinuating that we must be either stupid, lying or both. As you can see from the numerous reviews since COVID, this company has taken advantage of its customers - many of them being long-time customers such as ourselves (13 rentals!). We also had to cancel due to having multiple families coming from various parts of the country; many with underlying health conditions. It was one of the most painful transactions we've ever dealt with. We weren't even asking for a refund - we asked if we could apply our payment to the home the following year. Not "per the contract". DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH BLUE PACIFIC! Like other Yelp reviewers who dealt with Blue Pacific during the COVID-19 pandemic, they absolutely stonewalled us and refused any reasonable accommodation. In July 2019 we paid a deposit for a week at a Sunriver home in July 2020. The balance of our payment was due March 1, 2020 so the total amount paid was close to $11K. We rented a large house for a family vacation. We could not get out of the rental contract even though there were travel restrictions due to COVID-19 for some family members. Blue Pacific was totally inflexible and refused to modify the rental. However, we had to check-in later so the house could be "sanitized." We walked in and the house was dirty - like a cheap hotel, except it was over a $1,000.00/night. Not what I expected. The arcade game that was advertised did not work. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! There are lots of rental companies to choose from. Do not rent from BPVR. They are impossible to get a hold of and their policies are absurd. Every other rental agency, including AirBnB, has allowed people to cancel rentals and get refunds because of the Worldwide COVID-19 Pandemic. Blue Pacific: NOPE. They are dirty thieves...
When cancelling a home rental in Sunriver due to the pandemic Blue Pacific Vacation Rentals deposit return policy was both misleading and unreasonable. We cancelled in time for a deposit refund and the contract states that "Guests who cancel prior to the cancellation deadline will be refunded their deposit, less a 15% cancellation fee". We cancelled before before the deadline and the refund was the deposit less 15% of the entire rental fee which included resort fees, taxes, and cleaning fee.
