While the food ranged from average to decent, we felt it was overpriced for what we got, even for midtown Manhattan. It was not Sardi’s-level quality but we paid Sardi’s-level prices. The service was mostly adequate but some basic amenities were omitted from the experience. Bread is served but no butter or olive oil is included with it automatically. Our group went to Bond 45 prior to seeing a 7pm show on Broadway. While we mentioned this fact to our waitress, she seemed to disappear and made us anxious to hurry along. Yes, the food we ordered was good. They ran out of scallops by 5pm and it was a menu favorite. Portions were perfect. We all had the opinion that the tables where patrons were ordering alcoholic beverages were placed ahead of our table as a couple did receive their food order before us even though we were there earlier. Nice decor, good food, little pricey. I had the lasagna. It was delicious. The only negatives were the tables are very close and the air temperature was warm.
This was our third visit to Bond 45. We first came last year when they were just opening after moving to 46th St. from 45th. This time we were in town for a show and to celebrate my birthday so we stopped in for dinner. I had the veal parmigiana which featured a plate-sized piece of the most delicious veal. My wife had a pasta ragu’ which she enjoyed, we also shared a freshly roasted vegetable appetizer from their vegetable bar. My only negative is that their drinks are a bit light on alcohol. IDEAL PRE- THEATER DINING A friend and I had a short time to eat before an 8:00 PM curtain. We wanted good-great food at reasonable prices. And two friends —-both frequent diners in the theater district — recommended Bond 45. We had a delicious meal, with impeccable service, and made the show with time to spare. The waiter was a charmer and very sensitive to our time constraints. We will return to Bond 45 again and often!
Our waiter was excellent and got us out in time for our show. The food was delicious and the chocolate cake was to die for!
Wonderful before a show.
The service was a little slow at first but then picked up. The appetizer was great, but then the pasta was very salty.
