After agreeing to go with Mutual of Omaha, I called Brian later that day with a question and he sounded annoyed that I had called. That was the last time I ever heard from him. Through the entire rest of the purchase process I received no further communication from him. Worse, is that the main reason we chose Omaha over a competitor offering the same rate is that Brian promised that our loan would continue to be serviced by Omaha and would not be sold, as other lenders tend to do. I received 0 communication about what happens from closing onwards. I made it clear I was a first time buyer and it wasn’t until closing when I spoke with my real estate agent and the closing agent that I was informed that the payments may not be actually sent through Mutual of Omaha and that they would distribute my loan. I also never received a few documents that were sent directly from the builder to the lender. I had to specifically request my termite report and I have no idea if I am missing any other documents.

Brian was great! Kari Roy was the processor, and although most of the time we had a good experience with her, we did experience a significant problem. She was contacted by a scam title company who asked her for our contact information. Even though she had record of the actual title company already having been in touch with us, she provided the scammer with my and my husbands’ contact information via email. We were in communication with two agents in the beginning, Brian was passive aggressive blaming me for the “confusion.” We requested to use the first agent and told no. While the house was under contract, Brian’s team communicated poorly. They sent documents to sign with no explanations. Final figures were provided the day before.

The team was not the easiest to communicate with. Also did not communicate with realtor well. Last day before closing numbers were provided upon requesting them on and on with no sense of urgency. The processor was not helpful in providing adequate explanations and again with no sense of urgency. Always ended calling Brian and Kari, hardly anyone reached out even the day before closing with no final numbers provided!

Making it easy to pay down our debt by making the checks payable to me, rather than having me send them to my creditors. Even though I mailed the checks to the specified addresses, accompanied by a payment coupon, those payments still have not hit my accounts. As a result, I still owe $15,000 that should show as paid off. I'm hoping that somehow the checks would have cleared your bank by now so that I can receive an image of their reverse side, showing the bank and account number to which they were (hopefully) paid. The lock on the loan almost expired and we had no idea that this was possible. The whole process was like an inquisition. The amount of documents and information you required was intrusive. Everything took way too long. Every time we thought we were done, you came up with more documents that you wanted
