Old school with a contemporary flair. Great appetizer bar for the gluten-phobe and plenty rich and tasty fare for all. A regular stop for me when I'm in the city.
An absolute must. Inside or out, ambiance is as amazing as the food and service. Must try the lasagna.
Their brunch is utterly lovely. Especially the antipasto bar. Fresh and delicious, every time. And the most unique lasagna. Love it.
The service at Fiorello's has always been wonderful, and the lunch menu is extensive and nicely varied: pizzas, omelets, salads, and best of all, the vegetable offerings. Caponata, zucchini parmesan, roasted mushrooms, fried cauliflower... The noise level can be high, but that's the price of their popularity.
My friend--celebrating her 99th birthday--had a marguerita pizza, two glasses of pino grigio, and half of the Caesar salad. I had the burrata ravioli, half of the salad, and one glass of vodka on the rocks. I had mentioned the birthday in making the reservation, and so, when we ordered for dessert the SCRUMPTIOUS bucket of chocolate pudding (or whatever it's called) with Chantilly cream (or creme anglaise--I can't remember), the seerver brought a slender candle and my friend got to blow it out while I and the server sang "Ha... read more
The server was patient wit our group of six. Dover sole should not be served slathered in sauce. We are accustomed to seeing it served at the table so were disappointed in the pedestrian presentation. Whole fish - anticipated a fish knife and the ability to debone ourselves. Taste was fine on both however. Pastas were lovely. Good wine selection. Attentive service.
The waiter told us the crab and avocado salad didn't contain any lettuce (it does). The lasagna has changed since the last time we came here: the edges of the pasta are baked without sauce so they are crispy/hard. The pizzas, which used to be rectangular and huge, are now round and smaller. But the quality of the food is still pretty good. When we ordered the chocolate mousse, the main reason we came, and asked for five small plates, the waiter could only find three...and then never returned with more.
Every time we go to lincoln center, we stop at Cafe Fiorello. The extra thin crust pizza are excellent. We also enjoy the anti pasti bar. Service is good but prices a little on the high side. Wine by the glass is average.
Great, great tasting food! We dined at Cafe Fiorello for dinner. The veal chop parmigiana was perfect, the lasagna with braised short rib inside was phenomenal, the pasta tasted like it was just made, and the service was polite, professional, and attentive without being intrusive. This is a great restaurant for high quality, fresh, superb-tasting New York Italian food in an unpretentious setting.
