We had reservations for 6:00 PM and arrived 15 minutes earlier. We were seated promptly; however, we were moved almost immediately from a table we much preferred without any explanation. The new table was in a much noisier area, next to the bar. The compensation for this inconvenience was our delightful server, Andrew: charming, accurate, accomodating. This was my first time here and picked it because of where it was located. I found this resurant to be very crowded with not a lot of room for people to wait for their tables to be ready. The only reason we ate at Cafe Fiorello is because we were going to the Metropolitan Opera. The purpose of the restaurant is to get you in, served and get you out. I would not return as I enjoy a more leisurely dining experience. We allowed ourselves enough time to enjoy our dinner, but the restaurant was on their own schedule.

A great place to have post-Lincoln Center dinner. Good wine, good food, conversations about the music happening all around you, the soloist sitting at the next table with Zarin Mehta. It keeps the spirit of the concert going right through the meal.

The ambience, food and service were all very good. The convenience to the Met was an added bonus.
