my favorite for pre-lincoln center dining
MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN NEW YORK. WE TRAVEL 5 TIMES A YEAR FOR THE FASHION SHOWS AND LOOK FORWARD TO HAVING DINNER AT THE RESTAURANT. WE TRAVEL WITH FRIENDS WHO OWN RESTAURANTS IN HOUSTON, THEY LOVE THIS PLACE......
My dining experience was excellent as usual, that is why I keep coming back. At Fiorello's I always feel special.
A fine restaurant. Wait staff was courteous, efficient without being overbearing. Food was excellent, well prepared and tasty. The Tuscan vegetable soup was thick and very tasty, even to someone who doesn't normally like vegetable soup. The lasagna, (a Cafe Fiorello specialty) was very large portion of an unusually prepared lasagna, looking more like a pizza made with noodles rather than the traditional layered lasagna. We have dined here often over many years--the food is always good, but the service can be erratic. This past time, our waiter disappeared after we were served our entree, reappearing long after we had lost any interest in ordering dessert.
As always, the food is tasty and nicely presented. This time, after an absence of some years, we found one or two items rather bland. But we would still return!
