My mum is a resident at Camberwell Lodge. I’m so very grateful my mum is in a safe and happy place now. I’ve seen massive improvements in my mum's well-being since arriving at Camberwell Lodge. I don’t worry when I leave after visiting as I know she is in safe hands with all the fabulous staff there. Her personal care is attended to throughout the day along with staff taking her to chat with other residents, also, my mum's room is cleaned every day along with her shower room too. Our experience has been excellent, my aunt was admitted from hospital where she had lost mobility and had become incontinent. Within a matter of weeks, both have been regained and she is enjoying good nutrition and personal care, including a professional hairdresser, and enjoys the therapeutic activities she attends on a daily basis. My mum had a two week respite stay at Camberwell Lodge following the death of my dad. Mum has advanced Alzheimer's. I thought Camberwell Lodge was excellent and I visited every day over the two weeks so had plenty of chances to see things in action. The staff are kind and good-humoured. The place is bright and airy and thoughtfully designed. Mum had a ground-floor room facing the garden with her own patio table and chairs. My mother-in-law has been at Camberwell Lodge for a month. The home is spotlessly clean, the staff can’t do enough for you, the food seems to be going down well and her room feels like a nice hotel! My aunt has been at Camberwell Lodge since December 2022. The staff and management at the home have been great, they have understood my aunt's ways and ensured she is listened to and involved. As the next of kin, I have found the management of the home informed and understanding. The customer relationship manager has gone out of her way to communicate regularly and ensure I know how my aunt is feeling. I am so pleased to have found Camberwell Lodge Care Home for my dad who is in his 90's. The care home have taken the time to understand my dad's needs and preferences and the staff (carers, nurses and activities staff) look after him very well. Finding a care home can also be a difficult time for the family members too - which is why I have been so grateful to the customer relationship manager who has provided me with support and reassurance too. Camberwell Lodge Care & Nursing Home is close to us so we were keeping an eye on it while it was being built. The fact that it was a new, fresh building and decorated well was an appeal. While making the choice about whether or not Camberwell Lodge would be right for Mum while organising her arrival (at short notice) and settling her in, the customer relations manager, in particular, was brilliant. I thank God that my sister is now a resident in Camberwell Nursing Lodge, she had been moved from two previous homes that were dreadful. The building itself is beautiful but more important are the amazing staff, professional, kind, caring and very supportive, I would like to thank each and every member for all that they do for my sister and the family.

Facilities are clean and fit for purpose, but I have major issues with levels of communication in general, and language in particular. I live in the North of England, I lost count of the number of times I explained that I wasn't able to 'pop by', and I received sporadic updates on my Mother's care, and often only when specifically requested. There were two incidents where my Mother was taken to Hospital for checks - both times the appointment had been cancelled by the Hospital, but the staff at the home were unaware. Not onl... read more
