RecommendedMy Drake was not feeling himself when i picked him up from a friend’s on a Sunday. Took him to the urgent care Tuesday night and two days later he still had a fever and was not himself. He wasn’t eating or drinking and could barely walk. Cape fear took him Thursday morning and kept him overnight. It’s now Sunday, July 26th and he’s back to being good old hyper Drake! Thanks to Cape Fear he probably would’ve died on us.
I thought they were good until I realized they overcharged for everything possible. Just to get a stool sample, a dog examined, and an X-ray was almost $200. Meanwhile, at my home vet in Clinton, it might have been half that price. They definitely overcharge for stool samples. I hate to leave a bad review, but I also hate when people care more about money than an animal's wellbeing.

I have been at this vet 3 years and have always had a good experience, but I saw a new doctor today that I had never seen before and it was not a good experience. I will say when I have price checked around and received estimates on things, they are always much higher than my family members different vets, did not bother me much. Wish there was an option for no stars switching our dog ASAP as the last 2 years with this place have been terrible always seem to be overbooked (have even heard the office staff say it was double booked) they have lost an appointment of mine before (when they made the appt for routine work) & feels like overall the money is more important than the health of the animals never recommend this place to anyone

they told me today that my dog is listed as unpredictable due to his previous owners beating him and i watched as 4 other pets that came in after me go before me so im going to a new vet now
First visit was great. Very helpful and worked us in. Second visit was supposed to be $12 for a litter of puppies to be dewormed. Came in to my appointment 15 minutes early and the office is very hectic as they're having issues with the computer and they had a woman on the phone who apparently was overcharged I was put into a room with the puppies they were wormed and examined and when I went to check out I was charged $48.00? I loved Cape Fear Animal Hospital and had taken my pets there for years. The doctors are very educated and nice. Could not ask for a nicer staff. However, a recent quote of $710.00 to clean my dog's teeth made me search for more reasonable options. Called a vet in Clinton and was quoted $90.00 - $100.00. Called Highland Animal Hospital and was quoted $110.00 AND the vets who offered the two quotes knew my dog was a "class 4".
