Scam Artists! My 10 year old cat fell ill on March 21, 2014. I contacted my vet to schedule in an appointment and due to my work schedule they were unable to accommodate an appointment and based on what I was told my cat was in need of immediate care. Mind you, I pay a monthly fee to bring my pet to the vet I usually bring her to. Services there are covered by "insurance" and "free of charge." I called multiple places to see if anyone could fit in my cat, and Cats and Critters business hours actually lined up with my work sc... read more

Go elsewhere. STAY AWAY FROM THIS VET!!!!!!!!! HORRIBLE! My beloved cat had FIP.We took our cat for an ultrasound, and it was very important to us to find out the results ASAP considering the severity of the disease and the fact that the animal was suffering (we eventually had to put him to sleep). The doctor promised that the results would be back on Tue (the procedure was done Sun), however when Tuesday came about the results were not it and we were informed that they were lost by the radiologist. Which later turned out to... read more

Bad experience I had a very bad experience and found them very incompetent. I took my 10 week old kitten here for her first vaccinations, one hour later at home I saw she was having a bad reaction, her legs on one side were collapsing underneath her and one eye had gone droopy, she was clearly in a lot of distress! I called the vets and they said that this occurred in 50% of cats and not to worry let her sleep it off!!! I stayed up all night with the kitten who was very unwell, whining a lot and unable to move. In the mornin... read more

Cats & Critters is overcrowded!! I've been taking my cats to here for 2 years. I have NEVER had such a bad experience with a vet in all of my years as a pet owner. This review is long, but please read it if your pets are current patients , here or considering going there. A few months ago, I brought my cat in for a routine teeth cleaning. I was told that he had some "abnormal blood test results," which was surprising because my cat showed no signs of being sick. I spoke to Dr. C who seemed to have no idea why my cat's red bl... read more

leopard gecko Wow, I called them to set up an app't! They sent me paperwork to fill out in advance, which was GOOD! I set up an app't & called a week later to change the time & day of the app't. That was today that I called. They said "We don't do Reptiles or Birds any more." They asked if I was bringing "Miss Piggy" in for the app't. she thought my "piggy" was a Guinea Pig! She didn't even know piggy was a Leopard Gecko, how SAD is that. "Piggy" has been dead for 7 years now & they didn't even remember she was a gecko, let ... read more

Best Cat/Exotic Vets in Rochester This is literally the most knowledgable and up to date veterinarian hospital that sees exotics and cats. The previous reviewers that have posted negative reviews have a personal axe to grind. Sharon H.: Your cat had FIP an always deadly highly contagious virus. The Vet was trying to save your other cats life that you were risking contamination and thus would have two dead cats. I know it hurts to loss a pet but come on it is not the Vets fault your cat was sick. Jennifer C.: Odviously you a ... read more

Do not go to this clinic! They almost killed my cat! I am very upset about this clinic. I almost lost my love cat by trusting their treatment. Dr. H in the clinic prescribed this drug called metacam and the dose almost killed my cat and they did not even know what they have done wrong and just told us that my cat is not goining to live long (by Dr. C). You should know this if you have a cat since metacam is only use for one-time injection in cat and never oral for multiple times. They never warn us anything about metacam but... read more

Incompetent Drs!!! Both Dr C and H are extremely incompetent. After 4 years of taking my cats here and no diagnosis on my younger cats skin problems , I changed the vet. Also my older 11 yr old cat was very ill and they made a quick appt (that was the only good thing) but gave me a $550 bill for the tests they had to do. I paid it thinking at least my cat will be well. They have yet to call me after I have repeatedly called their office on the lab results and my cat is sick as ever. Save your money/time for another clinic th... read more
