The biggest negative is the music is way too loud. It’s almost impossible to have a conversation. This is really unfortunate because the food is pretty good. But they have to decide if they want to be a night club or a restaurant.
I am big on supporting black-owned anything, but especially good food spots. I live in BK and my brothers live in BX. We struggle to get together, but on 10/21, we laughed, cried, drank, ate and bonded. Thank you Chocolat family for creating the atmosphere to facilitate that. Big up the DJ too!
Decent food but our server was a complete novice. He tried but compared to the other restaurants in the neighborhood, this turned a decent dining experience into what we found to be an experiment.
I really enjoyed my time here. i went for my birthday and they were able to commodate for me with no issues
The lamb chops and spinach is delicious!!
On two different occasions, I've tried the shrimp & grits and the red velvet pancakes w/ the southern fried chicken.. enjoyed both dishes however the chicken & red velvet pancakes was better. Hands down. Much more filling. Also enjoyed the fact that I didn't have to wait long for the mimosa refills; a definite plus!! I plan to visit again but during the evening. So I'll see how that goes. The place tends to get crowded quick.
Seating was a bit uncomfortable otherwise the food was great and ambiance was beautiful for a date night
