There were duplicate requests for documents and information, making it seem that underwriters either did not check or could not locate my file. There was no consistency in the process making it appear that someone may check the file every few weeks, then send me an urgent request. You were really the only one on the team to provide assistance and I do appreciate that.

Outline of procedures and people involved would be very helpful at the beginning of the loan process.

My experience was not just with Chris. He was pleasant when we talked. My problem was that of all the mortgage companies I have work with KBHomes was unnecessarily intrusive. I could understand when I first agreed to buy the home being asked to verify income, etc. However, KBHomes knew the home was not going to close for several months, yet I was asked for documents on my accounts way before closing would take place. I’ve closed on a house in a month before so I knew I did not need to present docs until a month before closin... read more

The interest quote was 2.99% for various months. When we got closer to closing I was offered 3.625%. I asked Mr Oquendo if a veterans loan would be better and he sent me various quotes indicating higher interest and expenses. After a number of conversations the interest was adjusted to 3.5%. As a Realtor, I felt I was being charged the incentive for the down payment through the interest. I could have had a much better deal with almost any bank but I was tied in for the incentive.

I work with clients whom are very particular so maybe I have become that way and or maybe he is going through something and or Covid has been hard on everyone. The experience was just ok.

Communication between us was very limited. I communicated with my mortgage processor and received explanation of my questions from him because I never received follow-up calls to my request to discuss items with Chris. But overall it worked out in the end.

Being that this was our first house I wishbthat we had the necessary support from beginning to the end. Details of what we were looking forward to, follow up calls and just open communication. We felt lost and wasnso stressed we just wanted to give up. If it wasnt for Stephen I dont think I would of survived.

Communication with my loan processors, Veronica and Lequitia) was good when working with them (though mine did change in the middle so I didn’t hear from anyone for many weeks). Chris, my loan officer, was friendly and answered most of my questions, but communication was sometimes slow or i’d have to follow up with him to get an answer. I had some questions about fees the day before closing and he has yet to respond to it (we’ve since closed).
