Seems like they were only there for the money! They kept trying to force sedation for an exam, I called twice to let them know my dog needed a muzzle bc he gets nervous around vets , they said that was fine but once I got there I was told they didn’t believe in muzzles and they would rather sedate him! I’d also like to know why they had to take him to a separate room with a code on the door to do an exam?! He was ABSOLUTELY TRAUMATIZED and it took me 3 days to get him to stop shaking, I don’t know what they did but I will no... read more

this place is a joke! my dog was in labor and could not push out here puppies so we rushed to them. they charged us 1000 be for they would even see here dor them to do nothing but give her a ultrasound and say the puppies heads were too big that she needed a c section and wanted another 3000 that we did not have and told us that since we couldn't afford it that they could just give her antibiotics and send her home we refused bc why would we take our dog home to die like that. so basically we were forced to put her down bc t... read more

I would have recommended them when they first opened and had doctors and proper staff. I brought two animals in after hours that were on death’s doorstep. They had an anaphylactic reaction to a vaccine. I was informed there was no doctor on staff and offered a vet 45 minutes away. When I informed them that my babies would die before we got there I was told to “pull myself together” and they offered to euthanize. Why would you even be open if you can’t treat? Thankfully Animal House was able to take the emergency and the bab... read more

Took my female puppy who was hit by a car here. Unfortunately they have a money monopoly going since no one else even remotely close is open…. Front desk staff was wonderful, but I was told multiple conflicting data about her injuries and the extent of them. $2000+ I left with a medicated puppy that’s leg wound was cleaned and splinted and wrapped. $2000+ dollars!!!!!!! They told us she would need surgery on multiple areas to fix her! We opted to take her to a specialist the following day (Monday) After a recheck of her and ... read more

Business response:

Jennie, We’re sorry that you had to experience a sudden accident with your puppy and hope she is recovering well. We understand emergency animal medical expenses are often unexpected. Our board-certified surgeons have advanced training and may have slightly higher fees, but our pricing is comparable with other veterinary emergency and specialist hospitals in the area. We also provide estimates to help clarify potential costs upfront. In some cases we stabilize patients, then they can receive follow up care from their regular... read more

We were out of town when our senior dog was taken to this clinic from the kennel. When I spoke to the vet, she recommended countless blood tests as well as an MRI. The dog was 16 1/2 years old, mostly blind, mostly deaf and had problems walking very far. Yet the vet kept pushing all these life saving tests on me. I declined extraordinary measures and ended up having my daughter drive from Nashville to pick the dog up. When she got there, the dog was brought to her car in a stretcher. My daughter called me when she got he... read more

Unfortunately this place needs to get a bit more organized and established before I recommend them to anyone. Staff is very kind but they missed a very obvious splenic bleed & cancer in my GSD last year (I drive immediately from NVS to BluePearl in Nashville where they rushed him into emergency surgery - at NVS they were telling me maybe he could be seen by a surgeon the next day at their facility) and then last night my neighbors chihuahua became acutely paralyzed and we were told it was a 10-12 HOUR wait just to be seen ev... read more

took my female pregnant dog in at 9:00 p.m. she was not opened for a C-section to 145 then I was told that there was an emergency spay where all three puppies were lost. they contradict themselves they backpedal they are dishonest. it's all about money they try to justify their medically necessary. an emergency is now it is not 6 hours from now. they left that the three dogs had passed on a voice message they also had their technician who was talking with me on the phone have bedside manner. she put her personal view in her ... read more

The concern for.payment the day of is more important.then helping.your babies first and foremost. You sit (in your car) for hours without being contacted. (Covid games are over with) and when you do call you still wait to talk to a.doctor. Yes, everyone is aware that there are.critical patients too. One.doctor on call is ridiculous. Also, only open 6PM to 6 AM is not 24 hrs. Some regular Vets still do not see emergency needs. How can people wait until 6 PM for you to be open? Driving an hour to Nashville is usually. not even... read more

Personnel are courteous and polite but will not let you accompany your pet to the examination room. When I asked the supervisor she said it’s their policy and because of the equipment. You can hear your pet crying but aren’t allow to go and comfort them. If you are a pet lover, this is not the place to take your pet.

Business response:

Fred we are sorry to hear you had an unpleasant experience at our hospital. At NVS the medical care and treatment of our patients is most important. We realize Emergency situations can be stressful for our clients and pets and apologize for the inconvenience.
