I am the full time father of three going through a divorce. We moved to Oregon from Idaho. Idaho ruled that Oregon had jurisdiction for the divorce. My ex appealed that decision and I retained this firm. They were very hard to keep in contact with and i seemed to have to suggest things to file and how to fight the appeal so that they knew what direction to take. I wish there was a way to leave negative stars. This law firm is over priced and I could've represented myself better. I have documentation of numerous times this law firm did not do their job. The lawyer originally assigned to my case sent me another clients court documents. I could not get a returned response from my lawyer my court case was put off on a couple occasions because of my lawyers personal issues instead of another lawyer, stepping in. The list goes on and on. I would not recommend this law firm to anyone.
If your looking for an attorney firm who likes to take your money, then Cordell & Cordell is for you! I spent $19,000 in five months when all I wanted to do is to go to mediation and settle my case, as my wife did too. I only went to the "Zoom" court one time for five minutes and the rest of the months, my attorney was doing paperwork, filing, cross-referencing and continuously charged me for it, while there was no court hearings or court proceedings. Absolutely awful. It becomes very apparent this firm makes their money by taking it from their own clients. Once your retainer is in place it's you vs your own lawyer. I ended up working things out with my ex wife and we came to our own agreements. Outcome is exactly the same if I didn't have a lawyer at all. Spent thousands upon thousands to this firm that did absolutely nothing for me.
Scam artists. I would give negative stars if I could. My soon to be ex wife bought a house and didn't tell me. I needed to file quickly to prevent her from taking my son and erecting a new life that would have made it difficult for me to be in his life regularly. The Attys I met with seemed genuinely interested and helpful. They assured me (without promising of course!) that they could get the paperwork filed that week. *Warning* do not hire this law firm. They are criminals with a license. Let's start off with they told me they have never done a divorce for less than 5k. That was after I was over half way done with my divorce. I first went to a different attorney and she wanted 3200$ to do a basic divorce and 2 things I wanted to do with me child custody agreement. I know my bad review won't hurt this law firm but it might save another person the hassle of dealing with them. I have read other reviews and there seems to be a lot of common complaints. The biggest being the fact that they do absolutely nothing to try and settle your case. They drag it out as long as they can so they can milk you for more money. I really thought that I was hiring a law firm that was really for men. All I got was a cookie cutter, click and paste, the outcome was clearly predetermined to benefit the wife as always law firm. Overpriced and will bill you for reading emails, texts and can't offer a great opinion on any thing. Sadly the outcome would have been the same with a dime store lawyer.
