Seated quickly and service was fast. The food was so good and our waitress was great and kept that wonderful sweet tea flowing. The gift shop is awesome so many beautiful things to look at. It felt like home in there, the fire and atmosphere was inviting. I could stay all day.
The fish dinner I ate in the restaurant was good. I ordered pancakes to take home and when I got home found out they are burnt. I like 40 minutes away from the restaurant. I attached photos the one side is good but the other side of all 3 are burnt.
Seems portions are getting smaller every time I eat here (which is not too often) and the prices are getting higher - ordered the Barrel Burger well done which was cooked to perfection for me and had an excellent char on it (but seemed smaller in size) - plus an order of steak fries - there were literally six fries on my plate when there used to at least twelve On a Friday for the fish fry meal however - the portions have definitely gotten smaller - the fillets used to be a nice size - there wasn't enough there to cover the... read more
Atmosphere is always welcoming, especially when there is a fire burning in the fireplace. Service was excellent, attentive but not overly so. The food however, arguably the most important reason for stopping, was less than satisfactory. I had been on the road all day with another eleven hours to go so I was in a hurry and didn't complain but the grits were cold, so too most of the rest of the meal (French toast breakfast). I was a little skeptical when I walked in BUT everyone was super friendly and kind. The food was decent and the service was GREAT! I love the gift shop and made several purchases…the cashier was a sweetheart and I will be back👍🏾
