I thought you could never go wrong with Cracker Barrel’s breakfast. I was wrong. I heard rumors about the decline in Quality Control & food quality: Sadly rumors are true ; at least at the Macon Ga. Riverside location! I Ordered: Eggs over medium, sliced tomatoes & hashbrown casserole . My Husband ordered: Mamas breakfast. All his food came out COLD. We traveled all weekend, we went to many restaurants, 5 stars, and places like this cracker barrel. Our 5 lb chihuahua was with us. We had zero issues everywhere until here. We don't walk in like, "we have an adorable dog with us." we are very low-key, and so is our dog. (See pics) After we ordered the manager, I was not sure of her name. Service was slow and when I checked out I had an email for 15% off total bill if it was 35.00 or more that the cashier did not take off.i told her she needed to. Scann the bar code on email but she told me it would come off but it did not. When I noticed this as we were coming home was upset but we were almost home and we do not live in Macon it would have cost me to go back!
Very clean & pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant & store areas. We (party of 2) were seated right away. Our waitress was very attentive, delightful, & prompt. She was not over bearing but maintained checking on us frequently. Our food was served quickly & was fresh & delicious!
I know that chain restaurants can vary quite a bit from location to location, but this place has always been consistent in quality and service. The people are always super nice with that true Southern hospitality. Our most recent visit was by accident when another local pancake chain decided not to take notice of us within a reasonable amount of time. But the cracker barrel folks made up for that! Thanks, we appreciate it!
