** ZERO STARS **Run from this company, do your own investing*** Had they told us 20 years ago that we would have to jump through hoops for our own money for our child I would have never invested with them. They let the government tell you how much money you get each year and when. And they defiantly lied about how much our children would be receiving.

If i could put a negative number is I would! Dealing with the CST has been the most painful experience of my life. 4 different documents with 4 different numbers and thats acceptable according to Wendy Johnson and Jarrod Jeanson. Asked for a call back and never receive one, dont reply to emails and there self serve option doesnt work.. I was told not to go off of the numbers on the web site as they arent correct - thats pretty handy. you have no clue what you have for funds and no one can help you figure things out as... read more

Disorganized, incompetent and untruthful. Horrible experience. They have 83 BBB complaints against them with an F rating for good reason. Pathetic service. Shameful unprofessionalism.

Because of Marcie, our advisor, and her inability to do her job correctly, my daughter now has a $1700 bill from the C RA. We got her money in 2018. Marcie is completely disrespectable to me and will not respond to any of my emails. I have tried for 2 months to talk to someone from "corporate" and no one will take my calls. Before this problem I tried to move my resp to the bank and they would have charged me almost $4000. When my daughter went to college they charged me almost $4000 to get MY MONEY. And now they wont ... read more

Business response:

Hi Leah, We are sorry to hear about your negative experience with CST. We understand that you have concerns regarding the tax bill that you received from CRA. We want to assure you that CST takes these issues seriously and we strive to address them promptly and fairly. Regarding the tax on government grants, as per ESDC and CRA regulations, taxes on the received EAP must be paid by the beneficiary. We apologize if you were not informed of this process beforehand. We prepared the tax slip based on the information we received... read more

I will make it my mission to advise all new parents to stay away from investing in CST Trust fund for their childrens education. They can get better return and more flexibility with different RESP vehicles The consultant had me and my husband invest more then the allowable $2500 for our child (where that overcontribution could have been invested elsewhere with greater returns). I also was constantly being sent letters advising of a penalty when I had to reduce my contributions upon becoming a single parent. REALLY not a plan... read more

Upsetting. During the first year I invested some money and in addition got money from the government. I looked at the amount at the end of the year and amount was close to zero! because they are using money of new investors to pay out to current students and pay to employees of the company and other hidden fees. Next year my baby 's account is going to remain empty as well since all money will be taking towards the fees again. I don't feel secure about Cst. But I can't really withdraw... Going to lose all the money I inves... read more

We purchased a policy 17 years ago, since then we moved from Canada to the US. Once our scholarship certificate matured it was quick and easy to retrieve our funds, however be advertised that if you move to the US you will not be eligible to receive all the funds. I have spoken to a representative regarding not getting the full amount and was advised that because we moved to the US we are not entitled to some of the benefits.I found that to be unfair and not worth it.
