Heard a few things about this place since it was a chain but didn't expect Portsmouth of all places to get one. I heard from some sources that today (April 7th) was the grand opening but they have opened yesterday. I ordered #3 which was the tender, a slider, and fries with sauce and pickles. Cheese costs extra. I got the "Hot" flavor and it was very tolerable with the sauce. The name slider is deceptive because it's basically a chicken sandwich. The food is fine, but this place is so ridiculously overpriced, can't even wrap my head around it. 29.25 for a one meal, a side of fries and a small shake. I asked the kid how the small shake is 6.79 when it's in the board as 4.79 and he said the scoop of Oreos that he put it on top is an extra two dollars .... it's listed as an Oreo milk shake?? Maybe I'm too old (42) to get fast food... I can see maybe $20 but this is just ludicrous.

The chicken was not cooked all the way. The service was okay but the wait for one sandwich was over 30mins. The place was clean.

I walked into Dave's Hot Chicken expecting a life-changing meal. What I got instead was a near-death experience. I ordered the "medium" spice level, thinking it would be a safe choice. BIG mistake. One bite in, my soul left my body, filed for unemployment, and never came back. My tongue is now legally classified as a fire hazard. And let's talk about the grease situation. I'm still waiting, super disappointed by their service. After ordering I waited over 40 minutes for my mid grade food. Their excuse was it was busy. Yet they didn't offer anything for a 40 minute wait. Please go faster, and god bless the next person waiting for there never coming food. I'd say stay hopeful, but I'd be lying.

Waste of money,,simply disgusting. Absolutely no flavor at all. Way over prized. Basically chicken breast tenderloins dipped in flour and fried with no seasoning whatsoever so ever.

This place is the worst. I keep trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I have gone three times and each time they have messed up my order, usually by not giving some of the take out food I have ordered. Plus, they do not answer the phone so unless I drive all the way back I can't get a refund. Not worth literally wasting your money for mediocre chicken you don't even get.

WARNING; We went to Dave's Hot Chicken in Portsmouth, NH one month ago. Placed a pick up order through their website. The next day, we received notification that someone had just placed an order on our credit card at a Dave's Hot Chicken in San Bernardino, California. We immediately called the Portsmouth Dave's and were told bluntly, "Not our problem. Call your CC company." We called our CC company.
