First time trying Dave's hot chicken I will tell you it's not as good as Birdies hot chicken in Westwood at university ave. Nothing wrong with Dave's it seems like a great place and we were eager for it to open. We tried a lot of the different plates and spice levels, Mac and cheese etc. I will say Dave's gives you more pickles than birdies but birdies is just a tastier experience in my opinion and birdies chocolate churro dessert is just as good as it gets.
Great food, courteous staff. They're open late which is nice. The extra hot is my go-to. Great spice, great chicken. The reaper pepper (not their fault it's just a subpar pepper) is too hot and very thin on actual flavor. Eating it is just a gimmick for braggadocio; it's not pleasant. Humorously they have you sign a waiver to order it! Ambiance is cool/fun, drop in after the bar; has a college hangout vibe to it.
Excellent Hot chicken! My slider was delicious, I really enjoyed the pickles that came with my order. Staff was friendly and the restaurant was very clean. I had my meal in their dining area and was pleased with the vibe.
Excellent chicken slider sandwiches. I had to swing by here on my way back from Costco. Came by around 1 pm on Thursday, and there was no wait to order. I ordered Dave's number 4 Hot Chicken sandwich with cheese fries. The sandwich was delicious but could have gone for the Extra Hot for more heat. The cheese fries were good though could have used some extra seasoning. Overall, great takeout experience. Definitely will be back.
Lucas is the man! he really knows how to take care of his customers and everyone should support this small fmaily owned franchise!

Dave's hot chicken just opened a location right in Dedham. I had never had it before so I had to try. I got the chicken slider with fries. The fries were crispy and well seasoned. I couldn't stop snacking. I got the mild flavor for the sandwich and it was delicious. I do wish I went more heavy on the spice but next time. It was very filling.
