I generally dislike the atmosphere and philosophy of this wedding-industrial-complex giant. But I did get a great and affordable dress here.
I had a short notice wedding, giving my bridesmaids only 2-3 months to get their dress and get them ready and altered. All in all, their service was far from exceptional. They often did not have dresses available to try on in certain sizes (all my girls are plus size). Due to not having a proper sizes, one of my bridesmaids was recommended a 20 when she really needed a 16, and all they had was a 22 for her to try on. With our budget, I wanted to make sure I got a beautiful dress that didn't break the bank. I especially loved the wide selection of bridal and bridesmaid dresses. I had eight bridesmaids, two junior bridesmaids and a flower girl! I decided to let every bridesmaid choose their own dress style, one that matched their body type. Dress was perfect and great price
I bought my invitations from David's Bridal (online. Not from the Springfield store, but I did find the Springfield store very welcoming and responsive)My invitations arrived in the mail and were not correct. I quickly called them to tell them of the error and within 3 days I believe, they had the new correct invitations sent to me with even some extras for any inconvenience AT NO EXTRA CHARGE.:)
Davids bridal was a great value for our money. I loved my dress and the bridesmaid dresses. The service at the store was ok we eneded up pulling our own dresses off the rack, because our lady was helping to many people. I also needed extra length added to my dress and i wasnt well informed to which ones could have length added and could not. I found some that i loved and was disapointed that they couldnt have length added. Overall i got a great dress for the price.
Shopping here was horrible both appointments I had with them were blown off and I was left to fend for myself. However my bridesmaid dresses were right at $100 and my dress was under $500 which was 1/3 of the original cost.
Difficulty with scheduling alterations but managed to purchase the right colors for the bridesmaids and bride. Was not aware of the non-returnables. I would have thought thoroughly if I was advised verbally.
I've read a lot of bad reviews of David's Bridal and I almost didn't go. The deal with David's Bridal is that they are soooo busy. I had an hour appointment to try on dresses, which of course wasn't long enough. I barely saw the girl who was assisting me during the hour. She'd bring me a dress and then run off. The key to a successful experience is to have a lot of time and to be patient. Also, bring a friend with you, I had my maid of honor with me.
