Our heat pump was not working. The technician immediately identified the problem as a blown capacitor. He replaced this and the unit began working. Then the add ons started. First he told us we were low on refrigerant and recommended a recharge. This cost nearly $1000. There was no difference in air temperature after the recharge. So he said it might be a stuck TXV.
