She is very good! Even though she's in UMC she takes her time and listens to you!

Last visit was 2005.Dr. Averilla is competent, caring, patient, attentive. She refers me to specialist or diagnostic testing when necessary. She sends me note in mail to remind me to come back for check up on my borderline blood sugar or cholesterol. Waiting time could be 45 min. to an hour. When you have HMO - doctors are often in a hurry - to make up for the low reimbursement rate from HMO. Dr. Averilla is definitely conscientious. I'd told her my previous doctor hadn't done much, and once she reviewed my file from that doctor's office, she was extremely disgusted. She's done a lot for me for various health concerns the previous doctor blew off. She might be good for childfree women because she didn't seem fazed when I said I didn't want children (I'm married). That's always good in my book. Overall, a great doctor. Her only flaw is that she tends to speak really fast.
Dr.Averilla is wonderful. She takes the time to listen to concerns, and with patients input charts a course of treatment. Very knowledgeable. Appointments are usually on time.
The first thing that I look for is a doctor that listens and then goes on to speak to give her opinion. I was told that she was an internal medicine doctor when we moved here from a different state. She definitely doesn't have good listening skills, has a definite need for personal interaction with her patients and I believe she really needs to retire. I get the feeling she is more of a homeopathic doctor.
Dr Averilla, had been my Dr for years. When I was young and healthy and needed no real health attention, she seemed great. Always directing me to her cosmetic clinic for botox, juviderm etc. and i went, spending thousands. Now that I'm older and no longer go to her cosmetic clinic... she ordered tests without even consulting my chart to see if I still had those body parts... I dont. tried to make an appointment and was told she is a two month wait. i informec the staff that i am pregnant and have ashma. he insisted that it is still a two month wait. not worth it when two lives are on the line.
