The good reviews seen here are shocking. I have met with her countless times and tried many different treatments with her and every time I see her its as if she forgets every detail of who I am completely. I am experiencing daily issues that impact my daily life greatly and she implies that I am making up my pain and symptoms. She has pawned off some of my visits to other providers in the office and upon seeing her again afterward, she has gotten upset with them for providing me with new potential solutions and suggestions f... read more
At first, I kind of liked Dr. Howard, she seemed interested and listened. Gradually though after prescribing several meds that didn't help, she lost interest in my issues. She's not your warm or empathic type, more a cold fish type. At the same time, the practice is/was a big issue, as Capital Digestive Care devolved from a mediocre office to a giant factory. It's really hard to get an appointment, so I saw the NP (who's highly recommended). When I had colonoscopies, the scene was crazy--scurrying doctors, nobody communicati... read more
Dr Howard's is too focused on excessive tests and dragging in patients for paid appointments that could readily be handled in a 3 minute phone call
I had the same ordeal with Dr. Howard couple years ago. Very dismissive of you symptoms but will ALWAYS order a colonoscopy. She's arrogant and misinformed. I said I think i have bacterial overgrowth in my small intestine(SIBO). She told me bacterial overgrowth in my digestive systems means I have HIV! After the colonoscopy she just said your colon is fine and sent me on my way. I would not recommend her.
I am not sure about all of the positive reviews on here--which is why I initially chose to go to this doctor (despite having to wait 2 months for an appointment). I welcome directness in an MD, but she was dismissive and brash. There was no semblance of bedside manner. On a positive note, the rest of the staff was very friendly.
My entire experience with Capital Digestive Care and Dr. Howard specifically has been poor to this point. From numerous attempts to schedule an initial appointment to planning for an upcoming colonoscopy, everyone I have encountered has been extremely unhelpful. Dr. Howard was late for my appointment and dismissive of my symptoms but ultimately decided that I need a colonoscopy anyway. If I didn't have to pay the $150 cancellation fee, I would cancel it.
When I was first referred to Dr Howard, it was 2 MONTHS before I could get an appointment. Then they called two weeks before this long-awaited appointment to tell me the doctor would not be available that day. Did they try to accommodate me at all? NO - The next appointment was 2 months later. 4 MONTHS for an appointment?? Seriously? Who does this doctor think she is? God? She has no business accepting new patients. Run away now and find someone else before you waste any of your time with her.
