Wonderful and excellent Doctor.
He is a great doctor. I feel so much better since coming to this doctor. My life has change for the better.
The receptionist is very polite and helpful and was able to set an appointment within 1-2 days. Almost immediately I was alarmed by Dr. Owens lack of professional etiquette but I continued since another doctors in the area had a 2-3 week wait. He rarely makes eye contact, interrupts frequently after asking a question, and did not accurately recap information almost as if he was not present in the room. I contacted him regarding documents and he yelled and hung up on me. Worst experience EVER!
This man tries to exploit young black men who come seeking treatment and therapy. I'm perfectly accepting of everyone's sexuality but there's an issue when a person comes in to be treated and instead of listening to them, you give them a test and try to convince them that they are gay and just don't know it yet. That's when I noticed his whole office staff were young Black men as well. I would never recommend this doctor. In fact, I'm considering writing a petition to have his licensed revoked.
I see changes as I visit this doctor... very professional!!!
After 12 years with Dr. Owens, there are not enough good things that I can say. Honest, helpful, and light on the meds, he is the best Psychiatrist I have ever had.
This office is terrible. I give it 0 stars. The doctor refused to see me because I didn't have my insurance card. I'm still waiting for insurance company to mail it to me. I had my member and group number written down, my driver's license and the number to the insurance customer service. The male receptionist was very rude about it. On top of that, the staff uniform consists of bright red shirts and blue jeans. What? Red incites anger and violence and this is a psychiatrist's office. Idiots!
All this man cares about is making money. He spends the minimum amount of time with you (after he's kept you waiting for at least an hour because he's never on time) and sends you on your way with your prescription. He never wants to talk about getting off the meds because of course then you wouldn't come in every 30 days like clockwork and he wouldn't make his money. Employs highly irregular billing practices. My insurance was always the same and then all of a sudden I started getting bills...
I came back to this website to specifically remove my previous excellent review. Absolutely shocking and unprofessional follow up experience. I cannot believe that a psychiatrist would essentially tell a mother with post partum anxiety/postpartum depression working in healthcare during a pandemic to essentially suck it up or quit their job. I’m horrified and just want to warn any other women who may need help with perinatal mood disorders to avoid this practice.
