The company contacted me while I was at work and left a voicemail. They said they would like to do the work, but did not service my area (Kitsap County ~ Silverdale). Based on their reviews being the best, my wife and I were looking forward to the work to be done and had added we were interested in additional windows and a sliding door. He called and wanted to know if I had purchased a deadbolt that is appropriate for my door. I told him I am not a locksmith. It turns out neither is he. If you know exactly what is required for your door and have already bought it, he is able to install it, presumably with you looking over his shoulder to coach him if necessary. I am requesting a refund and he gets a D for wasting my time. <br />

She wanted us to come to her home, assess the kind of lock she needed, and if possible repair her existing lock, if not then purchase and install a new lock for her. The company came out to give me a bid, but they were the first. I wanted at least three bids. Their big deal was expiring in two days, so the guy told me to purchase it just in case I decided to go with them, because they wouldn't honor it if it expired before I chose them. A representative of Emerald City visited our house. We needed 2 large windows and a sliding door rather than 5 windows. He said he will check if that was possible. He came back with a positive answer and provided a quote. We agreed to proceed and as we were trying to schedule the time for the work to be performed we got no answer. After 2 follow ups we were told that unfortunately they cannot honor the price quote (at the Angie's list price) and asked us to add additional $450. We would like to cancel and get the money back

We called Emerald City Energy to schedule an estimate. I explained to the person on the phone that we wanted to hear about their aluminum window options. We weren t interested in vinyl windows. Chris arrived just before the agreed time. It was evident there had been no communication as to what I had requested on the phone. After a few minutes with Chris he said "nobody does those anymore. OBVIOUSLY THIS IS QUITE DISAPPOINTING ESPECIALLY SINCE I PERSONALLY WAS THE PERSON WHO BOTH ORIGINALLY SPOKE WITH THIS CUSTOMER AND WENT OUT TO PROVIDE AN ESTIMATE. Using Angie's List and the BBB I narrowed down a list of 12 companies. I sent a 17 page request for proposal with pictures and measurements. Chris was the first to respond with the lowest bid and he didn't insist on sending someone out to 'sell' me on their products. His crew did excellent work and I'm very happy with the value I recieved - especially after dealing with the other companies.
