I had Dr. Merz replace my right hip in 2020 and was very pleased with the outcome, so I chose him again for my left hip replacement on Dec 31, 2024. So far everything is going well from this latest surgery. I have been happy with all of my experiences with Dr. Merz. He is always willing to listen, answers questions thoroughly, and seems extremely competent. I also recommend NC Specialty Hospital, where both my procedures were done. It is an excellent small hospital with knowledgeable and caring staff.
From the time I called until the time I left everyone was polite and professional. I was given an early appointment and seen quickly. Dr. Solic was great, gentle and was able to relieve my discomfort. Love love this practice!!!
Dr. Toone is very kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, as well as an excellent physician. I highly recommend her to treat your pain problem.
Dr. Solic was very thorough in his explanation of what to expect with my upcoming surgery. He seems to care about my outcome and seems to care about getting me better. Dr Dellaero has been my orthopedic doctor for more than 15 years and was very helpful in taking care of my torn rotator cuff and left knee replacement and consulted on future needs for my right knee. He cares about you as an individual and takes time with you to explain what is happening and options that are the best for resolving your issues. He personally checks on you post-surgery and in post-op office visit and clearly states what is needed for your future well-being.
Dr. Toone and her staff are always compassionate and caring! She helps me not be nervous about the procedure and listens to my concerns without making me feel guilty about having them.

His communication to me has always been excellent. And with a giggle or two thrown in for good measure. The man knows what he's doing and his team is excellent about answering my questions as well.
Such an impressive person and a rock star hip replacement surgeon. Replaced my younger brother‘s hip three weeks ago and he (brother) walked out the same day and is doing great. Subsequently he is doing mine in a few weeks. I never thought I’d say I was excited about having a surgery, but I’m looking forward to experiencing his work!
