I was astounded by the lack of care and communication from Encompass rehab. My mother-in-law was recovering there. Her surgeon had told her that she may need 2 months of rehab - well, Encompass discharged her after 2 weeks. My father in law and my husband repeatedly called and left messages for her caseworker, Autumn, and she didn't return their calls. Overall our experience should've been two stars but there were some very attentive staff members that provided exceptional care. My elderly mother was admitted on a Friday afternoon, which seemed like a burden to the male nurse who did intake (incompletely and incorrectly, which caused problems with insurance down the road). He was not welcoming, at times rude, and seemed frankly unhappy to be working at the facility. The following day on Saturday, the doctor came to see mom and I asked him about bloodwork results. Overall our experience should've been two stars but there were some very attentive staff members that provided exceptional care. My husband was brought into this rehab center around 9:45 pm Friday. When I came to visit him on Saturday, he had yet to get any sleep.  His roommate had the volume on the TV so loud we could not have a conversation and my husband said it had been on all night and all day that loudly. He suffered through another night of it because that person was going home today (Sunday) at 2 pm. My husband was brought into this rehab center around 9:45 pm Friday. Spent 2 weeks here for physical, occupational and speech therapy after suffering a mild stroke. Was kept isolated for the first week due to Covid rules (no contact, no fresh air, no visitors) but allowed some therapy after the Covid test came back negative. Therapy sessions lasted one hour per day and were a nice break from the daily monotony of having nothing to do except to sit in a room and watch TV or stare out a window and wish to be outside.
