Extremely unhappy with my experience with this particular location. I have rented with other location of Extra Space Storage, but this experience really ruined my impression of them. My unit got flooded just one month after I started renting with them. They said the investigation showed it was from the ceiling after the storm but even their staff admitted that it was likely coming from the draining hole in the middle of my unit which nobody warned me about when I moved in. 601 WEST HARRISON EXTRA SPACE SELF STORAGE : RATS. MICE. COCKROACHES. CURRENTLY INFESTED. I LOST EVERYTHING AND BECAME VIOLENTLY ILL FROM EXPOSURE. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS FACILITY. We were notified they had SEVERAL units that were broken into with thieves taking items. Obviously a security failure. I asked basic questions to see if they can use their video recordings to figure out if the criminals took storage boxes (which is the only thing we have in our unit). So far, no response to that question. I'd like to assume the criminals ignored our record storage boxes but now we have little choice but to review inventory to see if any are actually missing. WATER DAMAGE - Never even called TERRIBLE SERVICE - I used this place for years when it was Life Storage never had an issue. This new company did construction, WATER RAINED DOWN on my stuff for who knows how long - weeks - it totally dried ruining my stuff. THEY NEVER CALLED - but they tried to put plastic above. WHY why would they not call me? Tony Chenoweth the manager won't answer my many calls. So - beware - your stuff just isn't safe here despite all their claims. Sadly, this facility has deteriorated over the years, yet the prices keep increasing. There's no longer a dumpster, no longer separate bathroom facilities for men and women, and now driving access to the third floor is prohibited indefinitely. There was no warning that the third floor was going to be inaccessible via driving nor was any discount offered to those of us who are being tremendously inconvenienced by this closure.
