Be careful before you rent. The whole facility was flooded very badly in May 2018. Their designs are bad. Over 400 units were flooded and had to be evacuated for hygine purpose. The whole place was full of trash and U-Haul trucks. Renters were crying for loss of personal items with family history and memory. ExtraStorage does NOT pay anything to help with moving cost. Just be aware.
Admittedly, we were behind on our bill, but to auction all our stuff without any prior notice that it was going to be auctioned when we had made payment arrangements to get caught up?! And six months after a flood wiped out a significant portion of our belongings already in storage there -- a flood for which Extra Space Storage's insurance company is STILL dragging its feet on in terms of reimbursement it agreed to months ago. After tweeting my dissatisfaction, I sent an email to a corporate account and received a form letter response from a corporate customer service rep and a follow-up phone call from the local facility. She basically CONFIRMED THAT THEY APPLY A "BAIT & SWITCH" with their customers, stating "we reviewed the price and increased it so that it is closer to the 'market value' of the other units that size on our property". My unit was robbed on April 3. Extra space gave me a free month and a new lock. Thanks, but everything of value was taken out of the unit. The manager, Leslie, admitted to me they had no camera on the hallway, and that they have no leads since there was "nothing out of the ordinary" on the keypad for entry on that day. The security camera on the gate that lets cars in and out apparently only works during daylight hours, so they didn't seem to think it was worth checking license plates of vehicles going in and out.
