I was at my storage spaces yesterday and i was dealing with my moms health issues but the mgr accused me of having been in the facility for over 8hours and stealth camping. I was there for 1.5-2hrs. The mgr threatened to cancel my contract and have me trespassed. In addition for some reason its impossible to tell why but one of the 4 units are a month ahead and it still says I owe money but the office said I was up to date. The 1.2k per month for over a year should have provided more flexibility to work with my stuff longer ... read more

This place a scam! They start you out at a low rate and then they raise it continuously. I started out at $50 then 70 then 90 and past 4 months $130 all within a year. I will be moving out asap

I am renting out a 10 x 10 space and with taxes I paid $99.50 for 3 months. On the 4th month my monthly amount went up to $188.00 with a bill for the following month to be the same amount. When I called to complain, I was told that the contract states the amount can go up because of their current occupancy my rate will go up. When I asked why double, I was told it was a mistake and that the next months bill will only be $129.00. I am submitting this complaint against Extra Space Storage at ************************************** to document my experience for other ************ a customer of over two years, my monthly rate increased from $78 to $147 and then to $247more than triple my original rate. Price doubled after only 3 months. Regardless of if it is a typical storage company scheme, it doesnt make it right. Nowhere else can a company double their rate after 3 months and not catch flak for it.

I signed a month to month lease for a 10x15 unit for $139 a month. I didnt realize the rate would fluctuate. I understand reasonable price increases. However, after 3 months they raised my rate to $219. This is a 60% price increase. They stated this is due to recalculation of the current market and availability. If I could give this storage space a minus 10, I would. This is the second time I have entrusted Extra Space storage to keep my belongings safe and the second time I have been robbed of my personal belongings in two different states. The first one in ****** Texas and the second one in *******, *******. It's a real ripoff my unit started at$186/months and after three months it went up to 239 and then $300 in just 7 months so everybody beware
