Extra Space Storage sucks! They raise both of my storage units $35 a month after having the storage unit for two months. Now instead of paying one 8550 a month I have to pay 219 a month. I believe in raising people’s rent but $35 a month that is ridiculous!

This storage company is a BAIT & SWITCH. BEWARE!! If you sign up online it will give you an attractive rate for the first 3 months. Then month 4, they will increase the monthly rate to 50% more than the rate you signed up for. THEY DO NOT GIVE YOU NOTICE of this increase. They claim they mail a certified letter but I never got it. When I asked why they never called or emailed they said it was my fault I never got their certified letter of the increase. Lies!!! They bate and switch you!!! I signed a contract for $89 per month and all of a sudden after 3 months they send a letter saying my unit will be $181.00. They justify it by saying that the $89 is a promotional rate even though my contract doesn’t state a promotional rate. When I questioned the office about the rate change all they could say is that I’m on a month to month and they reserve the right to change the rate at any time.
