I had a car booked in advance at the Phoenix airport and when we got there the counter was closed and we were told they were out of cars. They absolutely refused to help me or make amends in any way. Bad business practice, mismanaged company, terrible customer service.

This was BY FAR the worst car rental experience of my life. Nothing even comes close. And it is all attributable to the company. I spent THREE HOURS at the Fox office near Denver airport. 2.5 hours in a huge, snaking line before I even got to the counter, then after completing the paperwork another half hour for the car. This during Covid, in a crowded line with virtually no social distancing possible and plenty of anti-maskers. The employees could give no adequate explanation for the wait. 0 stars if I could. Never rent from Fox-Rent-a Car. This place is a joke. I rented a car through Priceline and when getting to Fox I was told that my car rental was not there because I did not arrive on time (8 hours later than the mistakenly booked time by Priceline). So they made me pay for an upgrade. Upon receiving the car, I did not realize how filthy it was until the next morning since it was nighttime when I picked up the rental. Absolutely horrible experience with Fox Car Rental. I have requested that a manager call me to discuss three times - by phone, by email, and via the company's online comment form a full week ago - with zero response. Here is the complaint submitted via comment form: I Booked directly through Fox and I prepaid our reservation to guarantee there would be no issue receiving the car. I have had the same experience many are reporting on here. I am currently contacting law enforcement to file a report for internet fraud, conspiracy and racketeering. I urge others to do the same if they have experienced fraud. A copy of the email was sent to Fox and I haven't heardack. Dear Fox Billing Dept., I rented a car in Orlando for March 21-March 28, 2021. My online reservation was for the amount of $232.68. I paid that amount plus paid a $150.00 deposit. I did not want any insurance or other upgrades. The man at ... read more

Customer service is horrible!! They force you into charges that you don't need but say they are required. Did not have the type of vehicle we requested for 7 people and 4 suitcases. Vehicle was dirty did not have a full tank of gas and it has been over a week and still have not gotten our deposit back and we returned the car an hour early with a full tank of gas and we had the vehicle detailed prior to returning.

***WARNING*** DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY Not only did I have to wait OVER 2 1/2 hours for my car but they over charged me by $266.44 And you CANNOT talk to a real person . I am on Disability and have suffered several anxiety and panic attacks trying to deal with this company I rented and was to pick up in Denver I am going to sue Fox for false advertising as they say they are committed to customer satisfaction which is total false I will never rent from autorentals.com EVER AGAIN ... I do show that the agent was able to waive the late fee as a courtesy but all other charges appear to be correct for the additional day. I picked the car up on a Tuesday first they didn't even inspect the car the car smelled like marijuana 20 min after leaving the low pressure light came on had to put air in the tire 4 times sent 4 email which when u call the state they respond in 24hrs which is clearly a lie I can't get through to customer service the brakes barely work it needs a oil change and a tune up they just need to retire the car waiting for a supervisor to contact us which no call back yet this is a very poor company

Still has my money and they didn't provide me with my rental as they said it was on 'request'. Who 'request' a car rental and gets charged for it. If I could leave no stars I would.
