Apparently, there are no actual toll booths and the state just takes a picture of your license plate and bills the registered owner. I would have gladly paid the 53 cents, had I been given the option to do so. Fox Rent a Car does not honor Toll Roads of OC Military Program. Charged with a toll, Fox does not send toll way notice. Instead charges "Administrative Fee". On March 24 we had used Fox Rent a Car services. We were not told that they did not cover all tollways in California. Found out the hard way that they do not cover OC tolls. I was rented a vehicle on 4/5/17 from the Denver Int'l airport. First, I was charged a deposit without being advised in advance of the charge. Second, the vehicle arrived almost an hour after completing paperwork. Third, there was a broken windshield the entire length of the driver side, obscuring visual acuity while driving, rendering the vehicle dangerous & unsafe to drive. I booked a SUV through rentalcars.com reference number xxxx. I called Fox Rent A Car on February 16, 2017 and spoke to*****, after being on hold for close to one hour who ASSURED me that there would be a SUV available to me and if there wasn't the type that I reserved I would be upgraded at no additional charge. Wish I had done more research to get by the planted favorable reviews and discover how awful this company is. The car was smelly and dented and the tires seemed bad or it was misaligned. The girl waiting on me dragged out the whole process by trying to up-sell me instead of paying attention to the paperwork. The extra charges they came up with were outrageously high. Most likely, about 2 days after you pay for your rental, the whole car rental price will drop by more than half. I got the rental for about $120 and not even after 48 hours the price was $65. Also if you are getting a drop charge, that will also decrease by more than half the price.
The worst rental experience. Changed 3 cars within 30 mins. All 3 cars had mechanical and suspension problems. The vehicles are not serviced. Maintenance on them show -4000+. Which means that the vehicle was supposed to be serviced 4000 miles or More ago. Then to put the icing on the cake after i swapped out the last one, i forgot my charger in it. I wasn't going to write a bad review but after giving me a notice for damages i have to pay, i am now motivated to write this review. Complaint 1: Approx 15 minutes at the airport car rental facility counter waiting for someone to help me @ around 1100PM. Heard giggling inside but didn't care to answer my calls and to get their attention Complaint 2: Unorganized car lot. Approx. 5minutes looking for the car. Lights are dim. Rented a vehicle at the Denver airport. First car they gave us was dirty still a previous renters soda bottles and garbage in it. They found us another dirty car which at this point we just wanted our long day of travel to be over with our 15 month old child. We paid for the toll package on the advise of onsite agent. After a disappointed rental with FOX we returned home a week later received a $119.00 dollar bill for tolls from a third party that fox's uses. $15.00 dollar toll charge & $100.00 dollar administrative fee!!!
