This is the worst rental car company out there. The tire fell off the car and they gave us nothing but hassles about it instead of handling the safety problem. Then they charged $7.99/gallon for gas when we took back the car. This is getting charged back on my credit card, and small claims after that.

Summary: Counter staff deliberately misrespresented what California required for renter liability insurance and would not rental car to me despite my personal auto insurance covering California requirements greater than 10x. I returned my vehicle 14 minutes early and was charged both a late and early fee that was not itemized in my rental agreement. Absolute worst company ever. I booked my rental car through Priceline as to not have ANY financial obligation with fox rental car as I have had 2 horrible experiences in the past and judging by the reviews, they use these tricks to get more money out their customers without their consent. When filling out paper work I expressed that I had 3rd party insurance and would not need ANY coverage. All rental cars were over booked, reservation confirmation numbers apparently mean nothing to them. We arrived on time for our scheduled pickup of our confirmed rental, and they had NO VEHICLES AVAILABLE! No notification was given to us that our reservation was no longer available. We waited over an hour in line to find out that they did not have any cars. Avoid FOX Rental Car in Phoenix. Multiple customers with car reservations were sent scrambling to other rental agencies.

I made a reservation online for a rental car. My flight was delayed causing me to be late for my reservation. After waiting in line for an hour i was told i was too late for my reservation and my car was given away. Understandably, my reservation was cancelled and they couldn't give me any rental under $300.00. Company failed to honor my reservation late on Christmas Eve, of all days. No offer of help, nothing even though the city was completed sold-out. The Operations Manager had some type of attitude and believe he was showing off in front of his employees how tough he was.

If I could put a 0 I would! We have been trying to get in touch with FOX since we got the vehicle. You call the office where you get the vehicle and they cant help with anything, call main office and keep getting call back saying call volume high please try again later, we have gotten then automated call back for 7 days now and yet to speak to someone. Scam. I had pre-paid rental at Fox Car rental in Denver, Airport location, CO. The agent name Elijah first offered me multiple sales pitches for usual "coverage, equipment etc" then when I declined tried to defraud my credit card. He asked me to put the chip in then "sign for the deposit"...he hid several hundred dollars of already declined insurance coverage.
