We have 5 dogs and have been patients at Gananoque Vet Clinic for 7 years. We have spent many thousands of dollars on office visits, vaccinations, dental cleanings & extractions, surgical procedures, medications, flea/tick/heartworm prevention meds, specialty dog foods etc... You are correct that this could have been avoided had you been told about the fee for the prescription and our employee understands as well that this was an over sight on her part and takes responsibility for this. The prescription writing fee is a standard fee for all veterinary clinics as it must be in writing and signing by a Veterinarian. Dr. Paul had treated my Pomeranian Lady Bug 3 years ago for teeth extractions and a teeth cleaning. Now Lady Bug has developed an infection and needs 2 teeth extracted and a cleaning. Kaley gave me a quote for $1,600 to be on the safe side. I currently don't have the money needed for surgery because I've been placed on LTD through my employer and I suffered a stroke in late October. I have two beautiful pups and when I went for their second vaccinations I was told that they are mandated by law to do a second well puppy check (which by the way is a lie, check OVA site!) I had not issue with the care from the dr’s or the care given my pups at their first visit, however being lied to by a receptionist and then being told, “shall I cancel your appointment ?” Was all I needed. Terrible place to take a loved pet too. This place is a hole in the wall that just cares about the money and not the animal. Disgusted by the staff and so called “dr’s” here.
