The cottages were located in a nice forested area with plenty of shade. Each cottage had its own name and cute architecture.The inside of our one bedroom cottage was nice enough with thoughtful decor and all of the basic amenities, although it was overall a bit rustic. The couch and bed were a bit uncomfortable but other than that I have no complaints. I would definitely stay here again.

The cabin was very cozy and comfortable, the heated pool was nice, the kitchen is well stocked, clean towels were provided. On the downside, the beds were not that comfortable and the sheets and blankets were old, there is a lot of noise from the main road because of how close it is.

The cottage we had was great! The hot tub in the cabin was a nice added plus. The staff was amazing as well! We will definitely be back!

I loved the cottage. Good price, friendly staff, clean, comfy, cute, full (but small) kitchen; and many amenities, including a lovely pool, sports courts, etc. (shared with other cottages on site.) My only concern: None of the staff wore masks, and I'm writing this during a surge in the pandemic. It doesn't bother me that cleaning staff didn't wear them, but I think the staff in the lobby should. (It's a government directive currently in CA in indoor public spaces and just common sense.)
Friendly staff, easy check in/ check out. Cottage had plenty of space and supplies. Grounds were beautiful with a clean pool and spa. I highly recommend this place!

I liked how it was cute and cozy. Pots and pans were included.There were a few things Golden Bear Cottages can work on. We stayed in #20 and the futon had lots of stains, the bed was uncomfortable and the people who stayed next to us were arguing and being loud most of the night. Overall the front desk was friendly but i think up grades are needed.
My wife and I stayed here during memorial day weekend in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. The cottage is located in a convenient area which is a short drive to the lake. It is about a 20 minute walk to the entrance to the Castle Rock hiking trail. We had a studio cottage. It was cozy and okay for two people but we would book a larger cottage if we stay here again.
