The beds were crazy comfortable! The kids loved the jacuzzi tub. It wasn’t fancy but perfect for the mountains and the price. The best part was we parked right outside the door. It made it easy to come and go.
Nice place at a great price, warm and cozy, good location... need to improve bed conditions but overall we enjoyed our stay a lot!
The overall experience was good. We had an issue with the check in where we were checked in three hours after checkin time. But besides that The cabin was cozy and warm. The layout was good. The area where our cabin was had a huge backyard so with kids we basically just rode sleighs and made snow mans the whole time. Not having to leave the property. BUT those beds! The mattresses were horrible, some sort of foam that when you ley there it sucked you in and it was so uncomfortable. Overall we had a good time!

I have been coming to golden bear cottages since I was a child and it’s amazing to now bring my children for a fun mountain vacation. I only live a short distance away from big bear, but go out of our way to book a golden bear cabin a couple times a year. Fun, relaxing, close enough to the village with a short drive and far enough away to avoid traffic/congestion. Only time my family and I stay elsewhere is if Golden Bear is full.

I booked this cabin for a quick weekend getaway for my husband and our two fur babies. What attracted us to this cabin was the fact that the pet fee was only $10 per pet, per night. Often, the pet fee is more than the cost of the room. Once we arrived, the cabin was very nice and more than we expected. We were so happy to learn that our cabin had a small fenced in backyard for our dogs to go out in the night. What a difference this made!
