A little history about HAPO We are often asked what "HAPO" stands for. HAPO is an acronym for Hanford Atomic Products Operations. HAPO was formed by a group of non-exempt workers at the Hanford nuclear site in 1953 to provide a place to save and borrow money. Our first office was located in Kadlec Hospital. When we opened our doors for business, it was with one employee and were only open on Saturday's from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. We remained at the Kadlec until 1956. STAY AWAY from HAPO… One of the absolute worst banking experiences I have ever had. Will likely be filing with the BBB for just how unorganized, dishonest, and unethical this institution is. I opened a new auto-loan with them to save a couple bucks over the traditional credit union I usually have loans through. HUGE mistake. I lost hundreds in the span of a couple months and lost more than that in time. Not only was their “insurance department” legitimately trying to scam me into adding an $800 premium onto my loan. Hapo has been extremely helpful through a tough trade in process with a sketchy dealer. HUGE KUDOS to Sarah Ayers for making a very stressful situation less stressful.
