A little history about HAPO We are often asked what "HAPO" stands for. HAPO is an acronym for Hanford Atomic Products Operations. HAPO was formed by a group of non-exempt workers at the Hanford nuclear site in 1953 to provide a place to save and borrow money. Our first office was located in Kadlec Hospital. When we opened our doors for business, it was with one employee and were only open on Saturday's from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. We remained at the Kadlec until 1956. Hapo credit union has always been so helpful and courteous we made our final payment yesterday and could not be happier... We plan on keeping our car for now but should we decide to purchase another car we will definitely come back to HAPO Thank you all for helping us!!
Hapo assured me repeatedly on a recorded line that they accept appraisals for vehicles in lieu of book value for vehicles that have been modified, so I paid hundreds of dollars for an appraisal. Hapo lied. Hapo (Ben specifically) approved the appraisal AFTER which I agreed to let them pull credit. Credit was great, and package was sent to underwriting. Regarding my Recently paid off Car Loan: HAPO definitely came through with a very competitive interest rate. Regarding the loan itself, I found HAPO very hard to work with. Hold time or time in Que, when calling customer service is terrible. For Auto loan customers, you won't be able to establish an on line login, so if you have questions and want to look up the status of your loan, You Can't ! STAY AWAY from HAPO… One of the absolute worst banking experiences I have ever had. Will likely be filing with the BBB for just how unorganized, dishonest, and unethical this institution is. I opened a new auto-loan with them to save a couple bucks over the traditional credit union I usually have loans through. HUGE mistake.
