We were very happy to find Pacifica for our mother. She was briefly at Calusa Harbor but we moved her after a short time. They might be good for other types of needs but not for memory care. Pacifica is memory care only. Residents there vary in terms of impairment and are grouped accordingly. We find the management solid, the staff caring, the facility clean, quiet and pleasant, and the food quite acceptable. Whatever our mother's trajectory, we are confident she will be CARED for at Pacifica.

High staff turnover and inconsistent follow through with her care plan plus communication. Lost almost all of her clothes and is wearing whatever they find for her. Hired someone to wash her hair weekly because my sister in law refuses to shower and I pay someone to check on her bimonthly because I live out of state and I don't always know what is going on.

We know that when loved ones live out of state it is hard to maintain ongoing communication, though it seems that you are doing a good job. It’s always a partnership between family members on what your expectations are and those around who can help or provide the services.
The place was clean when I was there the food looked good and the staff that I saw were friendly. Like I said I am not close so I'm not sure how accurate my rating is. They did not seem to have much in the way of activities to keep the residents busy only thing I saw was the television ( my mother in law is not a social person and does not care for games so for her that is not a problem).

The staff is amazing. Very helpful when we need anything. This is based on her level. I don't know or see the next level that my mom will eventually need. My family and I have had the food there - the Chef is next level. In the spring, Pacifica lost the most amazing Activities Director and has had difficulty replacing her - with anyone. Pacifica was very clean. The staff is always friendly and care has been good. The meals are fine. My mom doesn't participate in the activities, so not sure about them. The cost is in line with other places.

When I placed my mother with Pacifica Fort Myers I set it up to automatically withdraw payment from her account. 6 months later I get a message that they never processed the payments and they were going to to hit us with $200 a month late fees unless I gave them my credit card number. I refused because I pay from my mother's account and didn't want to put 20k on a card. I sent them a check instead. They took the late fees out of the check and racked up more late fees. Their non-care of my mom I feel contributed to her death. The staff is not well trained. My mother was having a stroke and they did not even notice. I asked them to call 911 and they said no, if you want to call you do it. They are not trained to assess and care for the residents. They are not kind to the residents. Do not move here.
