Very poor visit. I was referred to this specialist by four physicians who thought I need to see him. He acted as if I was referred to him for no reason. Basically saying why was I there for today's visit. Very disheartening and I have decided to walk away from the clinic as a whole after this encounter. I am still having the same issues and symptoms that garnered the referrals I received. Yet no answer. I feel like I have wasted plenty of money and time to end up with the definitive answer.
Was first seen by a young PA or Med student. He made me feel humiliated about my weight. I was there for reasons beyond my weight, but he kept staring at my stomach and referring back to my weight about everything. Dr. Mena did not seem interested in why I was there. I was referred to his office by my Primary Care. I would not recommend nor will I ever return to his office.
I was late because of traffic so it was understandable that I had to wait a while to see him since he had other patients but when I tried to explain why I was having problems and with what I was having them with he really condescending about the whole thing and dismissive about my symptoms and his attitude towards me basically told me he thought I was being over dramatic about my pain when I wasn’t I don’t know if he was having a bad day or what but my appointment was horrible with him.

He was rude, argumentative about changing his gloves and he mumbled incessantly. He was late to work and he felt I ( a new patient) should reschedule even though I was already there. He has zero bedside manner and extremely callous regarding my concerns
The scheduler was very rude to me. I had to speak to her supervisor. Dr. Mena’s nurse was mediocre at best. Dr. Mena himself was fine. He took time with me & then I had an appointment with an orthopedic Dr. Dr. Mena had told me to get back in touch with his office after I saw the orthopedic which I did. Dr Menas nurse said she did not have info from the orthopedic. I waited several days & Dr Menas nurse told me the same thing. I asked if she could look on my record & she said no, it had to be faxed. Staff was very helpful and very time efficient. They were very attentive to me. However, my opinion of Dr Mena is not a very good opinion. But because of his age, and his years of being a doctor. I don't feel as if a very descriptive explanation of the examination would make much of a difference. Overall, not a terrible opinion of the visit. But not a very good one.

First, I was in waiting room for 45 minutes, finally went through the door where Dr. and nurses are and told them I being waiting 45 minutes and the Dr. Mana nurse said oh ok come on in this room, stay there for another 45 to 1 hrs just about to leave and ask them to get my money. Dr. Mana look at my file ask several questions told him my problem on my hand, fingers and all joints, he said lets concentrate on hands and do physical theraphy, told him with my work schedule can go to them and will
Please do not go see this money Hoover. My PCP referred me to him as Fibromyalgia was a suspect for the months of horrible pain I have suffered. Hector Mena lists fibro as a specialty that he treats on his online profile. 1st visit was spent mostly with a female Dr. 15 mins with Mena He told me I had fibromyalgia and gave me 2 pages to read about it. Lots of blood tests! X ray. Next visit he told me he DIAGNOSES fibro but doesn't TREAT it. Said I should go back to my PCP! Zero help. 0 care
My appt was at 12, told to arrive early for forms. Got there at 1115. Didn't get called back until 1. He was absolutely no help. Told me my symptoms were not immune related even though my immune system is very suppressed, I've recently developed severe hypersensitivity to metals. Didn't listen to half of what I was trying to tell him, told me I had a lot of medical things wrong and most dr's don't want to deal with that. Told me to go back to my PCP. I left completely frustrated and in tears.
