Choose laser over inkjet I purchased this printer because my son started virtual learning and we didn't own a printer. We used to only own inkjet printers because they were cheaper and had cheaper ink. I was always frustrated though because I had to constantly "clean" the head and do test printing to make sure that the pages were printing correctly. Three Hours to install, but I got it done! Nice, sturdy little printer. Sharp, clear printing. Instructions somewhat dense and confusing but forgiving in that it allowed many do overs until it worked.

Even someone without a lot of technical skills can set this printer up. I’ve always wanted a printer that I could use with my iPad and my phone. I like brother products and I have used aN older Brother printer similar to this one but not with Wi-Fi. I could not believe how easy it was to set up and to get it to communicate with my iPad.
Great so far! Recommend! Needed since we’re all remote and don’t have print options of work and school with the pandemic. Super easy to set up. Stays connected to WiFi. App is easy to use and print from. Quality of copies is great. Prints fast and not crazy loud.
A powerful printer. You can't go wrong. Ypu can't go wrong with a Brother laser printer. The ink cartridge are so cheap to purchase online. Always buy generic toners to save on cost. I've used brother printers for 15 years. They last forever. This particular printer is small and mobile. We take it on the road with us when we decide to work from a remote location while social distancing on vacation.
Good solid printer So this was really easy to set up from the Quickstart guide. Just download the software, your quickstart guide gives the website address. Don't use the included disk because it will be out of date. Plug in the printer, plug in a USB printer cable, no it doesn't come with one but I have spares from old dead printers. Great printer! Very reliable and easy to use! I’m a teacher and this is essential in my classroom. No fuse or confusion, just gets the job done. The ink refills are about $20 and I’ve only had to buy 2 in two years (i don’t print copies for students on it however). Highly recommend for college students, teachers, professors, etc.
works! Easy install. I connected it to the wireless and then it was immediately detected by my Linux laptop, yay! (I did end up having to go to the Brother website to look for the drivers, but they have Linux drivers and they're easy to install and all in all it only took me a few minutes to get everything working. Duplex works, and there's even a tiny fold-out input tray that takes legal-size paper, although I think only one page at a time.
